Excavation:
Rock Solid Paving & Excavating, Inc. (RSPE) has experience in site excavation consisting of parking lot excavation to sub-grade (prior to stone work) and excavations relating to concrete curb and storm drainage installations. Our successful excavating projects allow our customers limit the number of other subcontractors to a particular parking lot or subdivision road project making it more efficient and cost effective in most cases.

Concrete Flatwork and Curbing:
Rock Solid Paving & Excavating, Inc. (RSPE) has experience in concrete cutting, concrete barrier or curb/gutter curb installations for driveways, parking lots, and subdivision roads. Also, we can install other concrete items such as pipe bollards, sidewalks, dumpster pads. Our experienced staff engineer(s) provide construction engineering services in laying out and setting elevations for our concrete installation crew. In most cases, there is no additional charge to the customer if our staff engineer performs the construction engineering for RSPE contracted work. By controlling the construction engineering activity of the project, RSPE again can streamline the schedule and has demonstrated a measurable effectiveness to the project and cost savings to the customer as well.

Storm Drainage:
Rock Solid Paving & Excavating, Inc. (RSPE) has experience in storm drainage work consisting of the installation of concrete inlet and catchbasin structures, drywell structures, French drains; and pipe & culvert installations. Our experienced staff engineer(s) provide construction engineering services in laying out and setting elevations for our concrete installation crew. In most cases, there is no additional charge to the customer if our staff engineer performs the construction engineering for RSPE contracted work. By controlling the construction engineering activity of the project, RSPE again can streamline the schedule and has demonstrated a measurable effectiveness to the project and cost saving to the customer as well. Our experienced installation crews understand the importance of accurate structure placement both in line and grade as well as proper trench backfilling and compaction operations.

Seal Coating
Our commercial-grade coal-tar or asphalt-based sealers provide our customer’s asphalt pavements continued attention to extend the life-cycle of their pavement to its fullest.


Crack Filling
Hot Pour Crackfilling of a more distressed & deteriorated pavement may be needed prior to a sealcoat to prevent water intrusion into to sub-base whereby the forces of nature (primarily freeze-thaw cycles) can not contribute to the reduction of a pavement’s life.

Striping
Striping typically consists of a latex or oil based traffic-grade paint installed by an airless striping machine. Each and every successful striping job starts out with a pre-approved layout plan or a project blueprint followed by chalk lining all critical aspects of the striping layout plan. Asphalt Pavement Maintenance:
Rock Solid Paving & Excavating, Inc. (RSPE) has experience in Asphalt Pavement Maintenance consisting of hot mix asphalt (hma) patching, sealcoating, crackfilling, and striping. Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Patching consist of Surface Only patches or Full-Depth patches. Surface Only patches require grinding with our skid-loader mounted rotomill machine a proper butt joint depth, broom and/or power blow clean the patch area, tack coat the existing asphalt pavement surface throughout , place and level one to two inches (1” to 2”) of a HMA Surface mix, and properly compact with a proper sized vibratory roller. Full-Depth patching is needed for a more distressed or deteriorated asphalt pavement. It consist of sawcutting the perimeter of the severely deteriorated or block-cracked (alligatored) area to the full depth of the existing asphalt pavement, removing the pavement section(s) with our track or wheel loaders, tack coating the patch perimeter edges, and hot mix asphalt (HMA) patch with a HMA binder course and HMA Surface course for patch depths greater than three inches (3”).
